Coronavirus Cited For Minecraft Festival Postponement

What makes this cancelation worse is that the event was announced just last week. It was set to be the first Minecraft Festival in four years, taking place this September in Florida. Supposedly, the event was also planned to entertain more ticketholders than previous Festivals. The post then goes on to cite the numerous other events – such as GDC and multiple e-sports events – that have either been canceled or postponed as justification for Mojang’s preventative actions. Another unusual part of this case is also brought up – the sizable gap in time between now and the former Minecraft Festival launch date. The post goes on to explain that the decision is simply cautionary, as Mojang is “not making any predictions about how long it will take to put the outbreak behind us.”
For fans still looking for a Minecraft event, Minecraft Live will still be airing and promises “epic announcements.” It currently has no announced date or time.
